The number of mass shootings in the United States have been increasing within the last few years. This has been a hot topic amongst news organizations and politicians. This case study was developed to explore the distribution of mass shootings across the United States.
The biggest challenge with this project is obtaining a dataset that has all the variables that I wanted to explore. There was so much that I wanted to explore with this project, which I was unable to do due to time constraints. I plan on revising this project to keep it up to date and add additional analysis.

The dataset is collected by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), whose mission is to document incidents of gun violence and gun crime nationally to provide independent, verified data to those who need to use it in their research, advocacy, or writing. The data contains mass shooting incidents within the United States from 2014 to 2023.
I started with a dataset for each of the years from 2014 to 2023. These were combined into one dataset as each one had the same number of variables. During the data cleaning process, I removed two variables that were not relevant to the analysis and renamed variables for readability. No duplicate or missing variables found.
